Barbaresco and Etna: A Terroir Tasting of Crus
Join us for a blind tasting full of insight and intrigue as we compare and contrast the various Cru’s of Mount Etna & Barbaresco through the lens of reference point producers Produttori & Terre Nere.
Bill Kniep of Pinnacle Imports will be on hand to lend his expertise and first hand knowledge of the producers to the tasting and has also graciously volunteered to bring some library bottles from the Pinnacle cellar!
What is a Cru?
The term cru is a French word used to describe a high-quality vineyard or group of vineyards, and the wines produced from them. The word translates to “growth” and is associated with the French concept of terroir, which considers the soil, climate, altitude, aspect, and grape variety of a vineyard.
